SG Courts - Supreme Court, State Courts and Family Justice Courts

SNR ASST DIR, INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY & TRANSFORMATION DIVISION (2-YEAR CONTRACT)

Contract
Closing on 13 Apr 2026

What the role is

A career in SG Courts will enable you to help us achieve the Judiciary’s vision of inspiring public trust and confidence in providing an effective and accessible justice system in an outward-facing, court user-centric Judiciary. We welcome you to join our team as: SENIOR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY & TRANSFORMATION DIVISION (2-YEAR CONTRACT)

What you will be working on

The Innovation, Technology & Transformation Division (“ITX”) is an integrated, cross-court unit overseeing transformation within SG Courts. ITX’s mandate is to drive business and operating model shifts, policy and service delivery transformation, and implement technology and data capabilities across SG Courts. One of the biggest projects that ITX is handling now is the Future Case Management System (“FCMS”) project. Deputyship applications under the Mental Capacity Act (“MCA”) have been identified as the subject matter for which the Proof-of-Concept (“POC”) for the whole project will be built. As part of FCMS, ITX and the wider team, including Subject Matter Experts and external stakeholders, intend to explore and implement ways to make the overall deputyship application process more streamlined, efficient and user-friendly. The successful candidate will be involved in the business process re-engineering for the deputyship application process, which includes: (a) Reviewing the Applicant’s service journey for system enhancement; (b) Studying the feasibility of setting up a green lane for certain whitelisted medical conditions; (c) Reviewing the post-application service journey; (d) Re-designing the service journey holistically; and (e) Change management efforts associated with the changes to be implemented. In order to achieve the above, it is expected that the successful candidate will, among other things, conduct stakeholder interviews and engagement sessions, review data gathered from this, map out current and future service journeys, and rewrite text to simplify legal jargon where necessary. Please note that as this initiative for the Mental Capacity Act is situated within a larger project and there are overlaps in the work with other subject matters, the successful candidate will be expected to assist with the wider FCMS project as well.

What we are looking for

Having a law degree, experience with litigation work, experience with the deputyship process, experience in handling technology and/or business process re-engineering, service design or digital transformation will be an advantage. • Proven track record of delivering process improvement projects, ideally with Legal Technology • Demonstrated record of developing advisory relationships with key stakeholders with the ability to influence decisions and outcomes • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to collaborate with other colleagues, work across functions and gather user needs for implementation into systems, handle process mapping with proper documentation of requirements. • Able to understand complex workflow and recommend improvements to existing processes, and to work independently and accomplish objectives in a fluid, often unprecedented, work environment. Only short-listed candidates will be notified. Thank you for your interest in this position and in the Judiciary.
