What you will be working on
You will lead a team in the developing, reviewing and implementing internal communications, mental health and well-being and staff engagement strategies.
You will develop and implement integrated communication strategies and initiatives that translate organisational priorities into clear and compelling narratives. Working closely with senior leadership, you will guide leadership and change communications, ensuring key organisational developments are communicated with clarity, consistency, and impact.
You will foster a strong, value-driven organisational culture by spearheading staff engagement and culture-building initiatives, overseeing communication channels and content governance, and strengthening frameworks that promote organisational ethics and professional conduct.
In addition, you will oversee implementation of the organisation’s mental health and well-being strategy, ensuring initiatives effectively support a resilient and engaged workforce, while reinforcing a culture grounded in integrity, accountability, and shared responsibility.
What we are looking for
• A university degree (Communications/Marketing/Digital Media or equivalent is preferred).
• At least 5-10 years of relevant experience and 2 years of management experience.
• Strong leadership experience in leading communications teams and driving key initiatives.
• Strong analytical thinking and skills to drive impactful communication and engagement initiatives.
• Strong communication, writing, and editorial skills, with the ability to create clear and engaging messages for different audiences.

The Military Security Department (MSD)’s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
