Intern, Marketing & Audience Development - 6 Months

What the role is

NAC's Marketing & Audience Development department advocates and amplifies the value and importance of the arts through various communications efforts. You will work closely with the whole of the Council and its parent Ministry to provide strategic counsel and support in the areas of marketing communications, to highlight the Council’s role as champion of the arts. You will also work with departments within the Council, and with external stakeholders to initiate, implement and manage marketing communications initiatives which are aligned with NAC’s mission, vision and strategic thrusts.

What you will be working on

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Social Media: Support the Responsible Officer with copywriting, community management and digital marketing on NAC social media channels .

    • Learning Opportunities: Develop skills in content creation, storytelling, and visual communication.

  • Integrated Campaign Management: Support the Responsible Officer in liaising with creative, media, and social media agencies to ensure smooth campaign operations.

    • Learning Opportunities: Hands-on experience in conceptualising and implementing marketing projects, understanding audience engagement, and developing effective communication and presentation skills. Key projects include Arts Advocacy 

  • NAC Electronic Direct Mail (eDM): Curate content for NAC's monthly newsletter.

    • Learning Opportunities: Develop practical experience in creating digital content, aligned to NAC's strategic objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Students pursuing a degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or related fields

  • Able to commit full-time for 6 months, commencing in June 2026

  • Strong desire to learn with professional drive and initiative

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications

  • Experience with photo and video editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, Procreate, Lightroom)

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus

  • Team player with a passion for the arts preferred
