Senior Manager, Technology/Futures, National Space Agency of Singapore

The National Space Agency of Singapore (NSAS) is a newly established department under the aegis of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which will lead Singapore’s national space ambitions to be a leader in space technologies and a credible contributor to the global space ecosystem. The incumbent will develop Singapore's space ecosystem and drive cutting-edge technology programmes to ensure readiness to deliver space capabilities important to Singapore. The role operates at the intersection of strategic ecosystem development and visionary technology leadership within a collaborative, passionate and fast-paced environment.

1. Strategic Analysis and Vision Development • Stay updated on national technology needs, capability development plans, and international developments. • Conduct comprehensive analysis of global space trends, emerging technologies, and Singapore's ecosystem gaps. • Identify critical technology and capability shortfalls alongside breakthrough opportunities in space systems. • Develop strategic vision that bridges current ecosystem gaps with future technology possibilities. 2. Programme Conceptualisation and Development • Conceptualise bold research programmes that address identified gaps whilst advancing cutting-edge capabilities, covering areas such as on-orbit servicing, advanced spacecraft technology, quantum technologies, AI applications, and space-based Eearth observation. • Develop targeted intervention plans to address identified ecosystem gaps. • Create programme master planning, technical roadmaps and measurable success metrics that serve both ecosystem development and technology development goals. 3. Space Access Programme (SAP) Management and Space Technology Development Programme Translation Management • Manage the SAP and shepherd translation of developed technologies in the Singapore space ecosystem. 4. Earth Observation (EO) Hub Development • Develop EO Hub policies and drive EO programmes to accelerate data utilisation and analytics capability development in the Singapore space ecosystem.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in technology project management, research, and/or strategy in space or remote sensing industries • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary efforts across multiple technical domains • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills • Visionary thinking with high tolerance for ambiguity and risk • Strong programme management and leadership capabilities • Strong team player • Ability to quickly grasp and deep dive into technical domains • International experience or extensive professional networks outside of Singapore's space ecosystem would have an advantage • Prior experience with space technology would have an advantage
