What the role is

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our City in Nature.

What you will be working on

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our licensing team as the main touch-point for all animal and establishment licensing-related feedback. The work scope will range from design thinking for system development, processing applications, and administration of the licensing systems, to managing and engaging with pet owners and pet establishments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Improve licensing systems and processes through design thinking and stakeholder engagement with pet owners and establishments
  • Oversee the processing of applications and renewals for animal establishments and pet licences
  • Manage public feedback and enquiries related to licensing matters
  • Provide support for departmental and organisational projects, including inter-agency projects and community engagement activities

What we are looking for

  • Area of studies in animal health and welfare preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, and written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Relevant working experience with public interaction would be advantageous
  • Well-organised with good multi-tasking abilities
