Senior/Assistant Engineer (Shift), Flood Monitoring & Operation Centre, CWD

As an Assistant Engineer with the Flood Operations team, your main roles and responsibilities include, but not limited, to the following:

• Part of a team of operators in the Flood Monitoring and Operations Centre (FMOC) • Monitor status of equipment such as gates, pump before/during/after operations for Polder installations • Monitoring of various online sensors and dashboards that supports the conduct of Flood Operations such as CCTVs, Weather Radar, Water Level Sensors, etc. • Provide periodical weather alerts and timely updates during Operations through the use of various IT Systems • Liaise and communicate closely with various external agencies during operations • Keep rainfall records up to date and issuance of relevant reports after every Heavy Rain Event • Monitor and reporting of faults at various installation through SCADA System • Operate various mechanical equipment (valves, gates, pumps etc.) remotely through SCADA System for various pumping installations during operations • Customer Cases assignment and management during non-office hours (including weekends and Public Holidays) • Carry out administration of contracts related to Flood Monitoring and Operations Centre (FMOC) Unit

• Diploma in Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering or equivalent • Proficiency in basic IT Knowledge and Skills (Microsoft Office, Communication Apps, etc.) • Ability to multi-task and strive in a stressful environment • Able to work independently and work well as a team • Possess good written and verbal communication • Able to perform up to 8 hours shift duties on a rotating basis, (including weekends and Public Holidays). The Ops Centre operates 24/7 with three shifts: Day Shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM), Afternoon Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM), and Night Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
