What the role is

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. The Centre for Protective Security (CPS) was operationalised to drive the implementation of the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA) and support the transformation of the security industry. The key functions of CPS are Infrastructure Protection Regulation, Capability Development and Protective Engineering. In addition, CPS collaborates with various public and private stakeholders to reinforce the IPA and synergise efforts to improve the security industry. The Outreach & Engagement Branch collaborates with strategic partners on capability development and security/outreach initiatives, promotes best practices in security services procurement, and performs the public communications function for CPS-related queries, feedback, and requests to support MHA in implementing policies and establishing standards to build a competitive security industry. As a Manager, Outreach & Engagement, you play an important role in developing and implementing sustained engagement with CPS stakeholders to propagate Protective Security (PS) knowledge and performing the public communications function. You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme.

What you will be working on

As a Manager in the Outreach & Engagement Branch in CPS, your roles and responsibilities include: • Collaborating on capability development initiatives with strategic partners. • Developing and implementing CPS’s stakeholder engagement plan. • Co-developing and delivering security/outreach initiatives across various industries by working with MHA Headquarters and Home Team Departments on National Programmes such as SGSecure training and counter-terrorism seminars. • Engaging private sector stakeholders on security issues and conducting training needs analysis to deliver appropriate solutions. • Design and conduct training on protective security initiatives for CPS-run courses. • Collaborating with protective security community and industry stakeholders to educate public on security initiatives and raise the profile of the security industry. • Growing Communities of Practitioners through outreach and engagement of stakeholders to facilitate exchange of expertise and information with industry partners. • Driving public and internal communications for CPS. • Drives the publicity of CPS’s work areas by reviewing and designing communication materials and managing CPS Intranet and Internet web pages. • Manages public feedback and queries in accordance with SPF’s service delivery standards. • Any other tasks as directed by supervisors.

What we are looking for

• Prior work experience in training, community engagement or communications, Protective Security, Infrastructure Protection or Risk Management would be advantageous. • Possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage people at all levels and ability to work independently are essential. • Possess resilience and works effectively in a dynamic environment. • Experience in industry-standard design tools like Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
