What the role is

The appointee will support the Finance team in delivering core accounting and finance operations, including budgeting support, financial reporting, and year-end closing. The role will also partner Schools and Departments to provide timely financial information and support to management.

What you will be working on

Responsibilities:-

  • Manage operational functions relating to Research & Development (R&D) projects, Trust Fund project, insurance and audit certification portfolios which includes timely processing of invoices/receipts relating to the portfolios
  • Prepare and submit reports such as bank reconciliation statement, R&D projects and Trust Fund project reports, and fund requisition statements
  • Prepare and submit statistical returns required by project grantors and government agencies
  • Support the management and coordination of the annual organisational budget cycle
  • Support financial year end closing activities
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on operational, reporting and audit related matters
  • Possess analytical skills and able to problem solve work issues within their functional areas independently.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with policies, and accounting standards.
  • Undertake any other assigned duties or assignments to support smooth functioning of finance operations

    What we are looking for

    Requirements:-

    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Finance related work
    • Relevant qualifications in Accountancy/Business or equivalent
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Good analytical and critical thinking abilities
    • Independent team player who is organised, confident and adaptable to changing environments
    • Ability to influence and engage effectively with various stakeholders
    • Meticulous, ability to pay keen attention to details
    • Possess strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience with Workday system will be advantageous

    Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
