Senior Data Analyst/Data Analyst (Population Health Analytics)

What the role is

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Data Analyst/Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in analysing and interpreting health data, providing actionable insights to support health policy planning.

What you will be working on

Interim Responsibilities For a period of at least 6 months to work on the National Population Health Survey (NPHS): • Monitor progress and oversee the fieldwork of Health Examination (inclusive of serum management) with service providers. • Process survey responses and health examination data for analysis (e.g. cleaning, editing & compilation). • Collate and review inputs for NPHS questionnaires to ensure clarity and relevance of questions. Conduct UAT with service provider to ensure accuracy and functionality of the survey questionnaires before deployment. • Analyse and interpret survey results for NPHS report and data requests. Responsibilities • Utilise statistical methods and analytics tools to analyse datasets related to public health, including health surveys, healthcare utilisation data, and epidemiological studies. • Interpret and communicate findings to stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable data-driven insights for program and health policy planning, and public health interventions. • Monitor databases to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of data. • Compute health-related metrics for reporting. • Work closely with cross-functional teams to foster creative problem-solving and address complex data analytics issues. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams from both local and global health organisations and research institutions to conduct research studies.

What we are looking for

• Possess extensive knowledge and experience in Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Health Economics or disciplines with substantial quantitative content (e.g. regression, analytics, modelling). • Work experience in public health, health statistics or epidemiology research environment is preferred. • Proficient in programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS, Stata). Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) will be an added advantage. • Experience in publishing relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals will be advantageous. • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly driven with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously. • Self-motivated and resourceful, takes initiative in one’s work. • Effective communication skills, and good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross functionally.
