Singapore Polytechnic is seeking passionate industry practitioners to join the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management as a Lecturer/Facilitator. In this role, you will contribute to developing the next generation of event professionals with strategic, operational, and production management capabilities.
You will bring real-world industry experience into the classroom, helping students understand event planning and execution across areas such as production, technical coordination, site operations, and safety. You will also mentor students in developing industry-relevant skills, professional competencies, and problem-solving abilities.
There will be opportunities to contribute to curriculum development, introduce new courses, and participate in consultancy and applied research projects. Administrative responsibilities related to teaching and school or institutional initiatives will also form an important part of the role.
Successful candidates should have both knowledge and industry experience, along with a passion for working with and mentoring youths. They should demonstrate resourcefulness, innovation in initiatives and strong communication skills.
The appointee must be competent to teach diploma and higher levels in at least four of the following key areas in the Skills Framework for Tourism and Event & Project Management domains:
• Audio Visual System
• Hybrid Events Production
• Analytic & Info Management
• Project Management & Sustainability
• Drawing & Visualisation
• Venue & Facilities Management
• MICE Management
• Event Budgeting
• Public Relations & Partnership Management
• Procurement

What you will be working on

Responsibilities

  • Conduct lessons, mentor students in projects and internships, guiding them in applying knowledge to solve real-world challenges in live environments.
  • Develop and maintain new or existing curriculum, learning materials and assessments, ensuring alignment with industry practices
  • Deploy effective pedagogy to facilitate learning
  • Undertake projects or consultancy work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support additional duties, including school-wide or poly-wide events and initiatives

What we are looking for

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Event Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Candidates should have experience managing large-scale events or MICE, including production setup, on-site coordination, staging, and technical operations such as audio, lighting, and visual displays.
  • Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring students
  • Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team
  • People-oriented individual with strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:
    • Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM)
    • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
    • Professional Conference Management (PCM) / Professional Exhibition Management (PEM)
    • Certified Event Sustainability (CES)

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
