What the role is

Description of Division: As part of the RPG Protective Service (PSV), the Partner & Capability Development (PCD) division drives partner management and capability building to deliver effective protection services for individuals and families experiencing violence, abuse, or neglect. We strengthen coordination of common services and enable holistic management of services run by social service agencies and vendors. The division advances evidence-based and trauma-informed practices to better support both RPG staff and the social service sector.

What you will be working on

Brief description of Job Scope: The Out-of-Home Care/Community Practice Support Team (OHC/CPST) partners Out-of-Home Care (OHC) agencies i.e. Children’s Homes and Fostering Agencies to enable effective case management for their clients. The OHC/CPST works closely with the OHC agencies to provide case consultations and intervention support for complex cases by brokering services and navigating system barriers to facilitate targeted and effective intervention. The team plays a key role in working collaboratively with the OHC sector and related partners to enhance capabilities and strengthen casework practices for the OHC sector. The role requires a good understanding of domestic violence and strong casework management in protection work, and stakeholder engagement and management skills. You will be required to build strong partnerships with the OHC sector partners and stakeholders, participate in case consults and reviews to provide effective support in case management and casework practices, and facilitate capability building. As an Assistant Director, you play a catalyst role in the professional growth of a team of officers. This includes leading, guiding and empowering them in executing their roles effectively to support the capability building of the OHC sector. You will engage and influence the ecosystems to adopt an integrated approach to the management of cases transferred to OHC agencies for better outcomes for the children and families. Responsibilities: As an Assistant Director, you will • Report to a Senior Assistant Director and: o Monitor the team’s KPIs to uphold the team’s mission o Provide strategic directions during case consultations to team and OHC partners and stakeholders o Provide guidance to officers on execution of tasks for management of case crisis situations o Provide leadership on managing crisis, coordinating with inter-agency departments and/or governmental agencies, when required o Foster strategic partnership with key stakeholders (e.g. social service providers) to support the successful management of cases transferred to the OHC agencies o Facilitate multi-agencies case conferences for high-level complex cases o Endorse Court reports and Court order applications by the OHC sector o Attend relevant case review meetings such as the Review Board and Committee on Fostering to assess the level of support and training needs that are required by the OHC workers as well as to respond to systemic issues o Advocate service provisions and look into system barriers when required o Encourage a team culture of active innovation and experimentation to improve work processes o Empower and guide staff to ensure compliance with the organisational practice standards and build their competencies in their job functions This role offers a breadth of exposure to sector capability development, stakeholders engagement and management, service management and casework management as well as leading teams in achieving organizational goals.

What we are looking for

Requirement: • Possess a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related disciplines • At least 6 to 8 years of experience in casework with children and families. Experience in crisis intervention work and leadership roles, will be an advantage. • Good analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills • Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders • A team player who is also able to lead and work independently under pressure
