School of Sports and Health – Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Diploma in Sport Coaching)

The School of Sports and Health, whose vision is to be a leading educator in the domains of sports, health, and community care, invites qualified and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Diploma in Sport Coaching (DSC).

What you will be working on

The Diploma in Sport Coaching is designed to develop professional, industry-ready sports coaches to work with participants across different age groups and levels.

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will contribute in the following area(s):
•   Deliver academic and instructional duties for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes.
•   Design, review, and update curriculum to ensure relevance to the sector and uphold academic governance.
•   Facilitate student learning through experiential, practice-based approaches and mentor students in their holistic development.
•   Supervise students in final-year projects, internships, overseas study trips, and co-curricular activities.
•   Stay current with developments in sport coaching, sport technology/analytics, and pedagogy through active engagement with industry and professional bodies.
•   Develop and maintain industry partnerships to keep curriculum current and to promote collaborations (e.g., commission projects, guest lectures, internships, and field visits) to support applied learning and research.
•   Take part in school-wide administrative duties, event organisation, outreach activities, and other committee roles.

What we are looking for

•   Relevant qualification in the areas of sports analysis, sports coaching, sports science, physical education or related disciplines.
•   At least 4 years of industry experience in sports analytics, sports performance analysis and/or fundamental gymnastics or sports coaching
•   A self-driven individual and a team-player with a strong sense of responsibility and disciplined to complete duties to meet time and quality targets.
•   Possess sound planning, organising and multi-tasking skills, and able to pay attention to details.
•   Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with module teams and industry partners.
•   Proficient with Performance Analysis software and Gen AI software will be advantageous.
•   Ability to design assessments and facilitate learner-centred, active learning; experience teaching or training adults/youths will be advantageous.
•   Able to commit to some weeknights and weekends to conduct CET classes and short courses.
