Deputy Director, North East Asia Division

The Trade and International Economic Relations (TIER) cluster drives the formulation of Singapore's foreign economic policy and safeguards Singapore's economic interests in the international economic arena. The North East Asia Division (NEA) is a division within TIER that develops and implements policies aimed at growing Singapore's economic relations with over 70 countries in these regions. The job scope includes driving initiatives such as bilateral platforms, pursuing economic agreements, and staffing of Ministerial visits.

As a Deputy Director in the North East Asia (NEA) Division in MTI, you will lead a team of dedicated and creative colleagues to: • Formulate and review Singapore's strategy of engaging the markets in NEA, including China. • Engage in international trade diplomacy • Organising and representing MTI in official trips, study visits and business missions. • Play an impactful role in helping Singapore build good relations with these countries and gain economically from the growth of the region.

• Prior experience in international relations, formulating and reviewing policy matters is preferred. • Excellent analytical, communication, written and negotiation skills. • Willingness to travel. • Effectively bilingual in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
