Location: Punggol Library

What you will be working on

  • Promote a culture of reading by curating and delivering engaging book recommendations through programmes, reviews, and thematic displays. Foster positive reading habits among users by ensuring content is accessible, relevant, and appealing, while monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of displays and pop-up initiatives for continuous improvement. 
  • Organise and co-curate programmes and services on trending & evergreen topics (e.g. soft skills workshops, entrepreneurship talks, personal development etc.)  for working adults with relevant partners and resource persons. This includes talks, workshops, learning communities, book clubs, special events and DIY activities.
  • Conduct outreach to external partners—including corporate organisations, IHLs and workplaces—to tailor and curate reading and learning materials that support their organisational needs and interests.
  • Conduct research to create informative learning content (e.g. videos, EDMs, infographics, learning packages) based on digital trends and topics, for young adults and working adults.
  • Ensure that programmes & services are relevant and impactful through evaluation of participants’ feedback and data analysis.
  • Responsible for the quality and breadth of collection and programme in areas pertaining to the allocated target segment(s) in the branch.
  • Develop a good understanding of library users and their profiles through day-to-day ground engagement and various forms of surveys; in order to more effectively promote our collections and services.
  • Maintain the quality and relevance of the collections by evaluating and analysing data such as branch collection usage and loan data.

What we are looking for

  • At least one to two years of relevant experience in project management, community engagement and marketing/ promotion.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for reading, able to engage diverse users and inspire interest in books
  • Good analytical, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Required to perform shift work and work on weekends.
  • Skills in technology, art, craft, engineering, music, science, green design, and computer software/programmes (video editing etc) can be stated in application.

Location: Work location will be at the Marine Parade Library. As the library is currently closed for renovation, the current work location is at Punggol Library. 

Successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
