Executive Engineer/Engineer (Development Control Department)
What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be part of a team that carries out environmental planning and control so that environmental factors (including buffer requirements) are incorporated for proposed developments/projects to safeguard the environment. Your primary duties will include the following:
Evaluate and process industrial siting consultations to ensure industrial developments meet nuisance buffer and are located in industrial estates that are compatible to surrounding landuse.
Evaluate and process workers’ dormitory and childcare/student care applications to ensure they are sited outside unsafe zone (i.e. health and safety buffer)
Evaluate and process industrial landuse, infrastructure and government proposals and advise developers, consultants and government agencies on environmental requirements to be incorporated into the proposals.
Evaluate and process Environmental Consultation (i.e. Form A submission), Environmental Impact Assessment reports and temporary landuse submissions.
Evaluate and process development control plans, building plans, and detailed plans (including application of Building Information Modelling to submissions), as well as ensure that environmental factors and related considerations (i.e. preventive and mitigation measures) are incorporated in the design of the proposed developments.
Review environmental planning norms and requirements to keep abreast with the developments in Singapore, leveraging on technology and state-of-the-art environmental control measures.
What we are looking for
Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Self-motivated, independent, resourceful, able to foster teamwork and also able to work independently
Good analytical, writing and interpersonal communication skills
Good knowledge of environmental modelling tools, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and interpretation building plans or any architecture knowledge
