What the role is

You serve as the Formation Safety Officer for HQ Army Intelligence, acting as the principal safety and occupational health advisor to Chief Army Intelligence Officer (CAIO and HQ Army Intelligence. You are also responsible for planning, coordinating, enforcing and continuously improving the safety management system in HQ Army Intelligence and across all subordinate units, ensuring compliance with Army Safety Directives, Army Safety Regulations (ASR) and approved Safety Management Plans (SMP).

What you will be working on

- Serve as Formation's Subject Matter Expert on safety and occupational health - Advise Formation Commander and staff on safety policies, risk trends and systemic vulnerabilities affecting Army intelligence operations - Support Formation Safety Committee and Safety & Health Conference including safety papers, incident reviews and policy recommendations - Drive safety culture and leadership across subordinate units - Oversee implementation of Formation safety and health systems including risk management and Army Safety Regulations compliance - Develop, review and implement Formation's Safety Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Management Plans - Coordinate safety assurance for Formation exercises, training activities and specialised operations - Conduct safety inspections and audits of subordinate units - Oversee safety investigations and incident reviews - Guide and support Unit Safety Officers and Institute Safety Officers - Support in planning and conduct of Formation-level safety education Challenge(s) - Managing high tempo, distributed operations where Army Intelligence supports multiple formations simultaneously across wide range of domains - Ensuring consistent safety standards and supervision across distributed footprint often dispersed across units and locations both local and overseas - Maintaining growth opportunities in knowledge across various domains

What we are looking for

- At least 6 years of relevant experience in training governance, or safety-related appointments - Strong operational background - Familiarity with C4ISR operations, UAS employment or technology enabled capabilities is advantageous - Strong leadership and team-oriented mindset - Strong competency in risk identification, assessment, mitigation and balanced judgement - Ability to communicate safety concerns clearly - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications with competencies in database management and trend analysis is advantageous Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
