What you will be working on
You will be directly responsible for developing (policy) frameworks, review policies and programmes in matters relating to race, religion, integration / culture building and strengthen community partnerships and engagement. This includes working various government and non-government agencies for comprehensive and holistic analyses and evaluations of issues.
Your responsibilities include the following:
• Formulate and review policies relating to race and religion. These include how Singapore safeguards freedom of religion while preserving common spaces, how we resource our religious organisations (e.g. land planning, foreign manpower), and how we strengthen inter-faith dialogue and social mixing.
• Formulate and review policies (e.g. on funding) to support the work of Self-Help Groups, and other community organisations seeking to promote community upliftment and development.
• Engage and develop strong relationships with religious organisations and leaders in Singapore, to deepen mutual understanding between Government and the sector and build social capital.
• Partner with academics and research institutions to advance social cohesion in Singapore, to pre-emptively bridge potential social fault lines in Singapore, such as race and religion, SES, and between locals and foreigners.
• Share Singapore’s model of multiculturalism with international partners, including at global platforms like the UN (e.g. ICERD, UPR).

Work Experiences
• At least 2 to 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

• Formulates policies that integrate strategic communications considerations from inception, ensuring effective public engagement and understanding
• Develops practical policy solutions with a keen awareness of implementation challenges, balancing ideals with on-the-ground realities

• Strategically identify, analyse, and prioritise stakeholders across diverse domains, developing targeted engagement approaches.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with varied stakeholders, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and aligning partnerships with organisational goals.
Data-driven Policy Analysis
• Utilises data analytics to review existing policies, programmes, and initiatives, assessing their effectiveness and impact
• Develops evidence-based recommendations for new or improved strategies, leveraging insights from complex data analysis
Personality traits
• Strong organisational and coordination skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Proactive in seeking opportunities to collaborate with other parties
