What the role is
You will join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team tasked to ensure that the regional renewable energy projects and electricity imports are implemented on time, through policy and regulatory measures, and partnership with stakeholders. Specifically, you will join the Market & Regulatory Design branch in the Energy Connections Office
What you will be working on
Responsibilities:
1. Developing policies to ensure that Singapore's power supply remains secure, reliable, and affordable while successfully incorporating electricity imports
2. Managing regional renewable energy and electricity imports projects
3. Managing cross-agency policy and operational trade-offs for Singapore to bring in large-scale electricity imports
4. Engaging industry stakeholders and financial institutions to seek feedback for policies on electricity imports
What we are looking for
Requirements:
We are looking for people with a keen interest in energy issues and passion for the public service. You must be excited about learning new things, comfortable with navigating ambiguity, challenging the status quo, and willing to speak up and put forward new solutions. Key skillsets that we are looking out for include:
1. Strong understanding of technology concepts and trends, with the ability to assess economic implications.
2. Familiarity with relevant tools and methodologies for techno-economic analysis.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
4. Analytical and detailed-oriented, with a proven understanding of different financing models/tools for infrastructure projects.
You should also be a team player and be prepared to travel overseas for work. Those with prior experience in electricity trading, industry engagement, financial modelling, economics or related field will have an advantage
