Assistant Director (Cybersecurity Strategy & Governance) - DIS

What the role is

You will support the development, governance and execution of DIS's Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4) and Cybersecurity strategy. You will play a key role in capability development and oversee project implementations to strengthen the organisational cyber resilience across operational environments.

What you will be working on

- Support the formulation and implementation of C4 and Cybersecurity strategies, policies and governance frameworks to enhance organisational security posture - Identify and evaluate existing systems and network architectures for cybersecurity enhancements whilst ensuring alignment with operational requirements - Explore and evaluate emerging technologies for incorporation into operational environments to maintain technological advantage and security effectiveness - Provide management and oversight for C4 and Cybersecurity programmes, projects and initiatives from conception through implementation - Conduct risk assessments and security evaluations to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation - Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and capability enhancement - Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented cybersecurity measures and recommend continuous improvements Challenge(s) - Keeping up-to-date with rapidly evolving cybersecurity-related current affairs and understanding how emerging threats and issues relate to organisational security posture - Managing diverse stakeholders with varying technical requirements, operational priorities and security expectations whilst maintaining project momentum and alignment

What we are looking for

- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related fields - At least 6 years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity with demonstrated expertise in security strategy development and implementation - Good conceptual and analytical skills with ability to assess complex technical and strategic challenges - Excellent writing and networking skills with strong critical thinking abilities and adaptability to changing environments - Ability to multitask effectively and work in a dynamic environment whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality standards - Ability to work independently with strong self-direction and initiative in managing multiple priorities - Understanding of C4 systems, network architectures and cybersecurity frameworks would be advantageous - Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement in technical environments - Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity technologies and threat landscapes Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
