What the role is

You are responsible for the fitness and recreation services for base residents, supporting the improvement of fitness outcomes for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) personnel.

What you will be working on

- Supervise the management of fitness and recreation services to meet the diverse needs of base residents - Maintain the availability and operability of fitness and recreation facilities, including two gymnasiums and sports equipment - Perform contract execution and manage contracted fitness specialists and lifeguards - Monitor fitness training activities while upkeeping Central Naval Base (CNB) sports equipment and facilities - Plan and promote a wider range of fitness programmes to provide appealing options for personnel to maintain healthy lifestyles - Establish effective systems to oversee the wide spectrum of facilities and sports activities - Ensure fitness specialists provide quality training programmes and improve personnel's Body Mass Index (BMI) and IPPT results Challenge(s) - Managing the dual responsibility of monitoring fitness training activities while maintaining CNB sports equipment and facilities, requiring effective oversight of diverse facilities and sports activities - Keeping abreast of latest requirements and directives for the conduct of IPPT, swimming proficiency tests, and other physical training activities

What we are looking for

- Education in Sports Science and Management, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Fitness Management, or related field - At least 5 years of experience in fitness and recreation management, with team management experience being advantageous - Familiarity with RSN Occupational Safety & Health Directives when dealing with contractors - Knowledge of logistics, finance, and existing Finance Directives/General Orders of Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) to ensure proper accountability of public funds - Proficiency in Information Technology enabled Facilities Management (ITeFM) and completion of stipulated financial courses to qualify as an Acceptance Officer (ACO) - Meticulous attention to detail - Ability to work independently - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
