Closing on 02 May 2026

What the role is

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Manager for AI & Data Analytics to support the Applied Sciences Group of HSA. The candidate will primarily focus on AI/machine learning applications and data integration projects across forensic and analytical laboratories, providing advanced technical expertise and recommendations to senior management. The ideal candidate should have strong AI/ML background, data integration experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional laboratory teams.

What you will be working on

  • To develop and deploy AI/machine learning solutions for diverse laboratory applications across forensic and analytical sciences, including but not limited to automated data interpretation, voice-to-report generation, pattern recognition, predictive modelling, and intelligent workflow optimisation, and chromatographic interpretations.
  • To design and implement data integration solutions connecting LIMS data, instrument data, and external databases to create unified data ecosystems for analytical insights.
  • To automate manual laboratory workflows using Python/R scripts and develop process optimisation solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention in routine tasks.
  • To create and manage dashboards and data visualisations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms, ensuring clean and structured data presentation for both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • To provide centralised data analytics support to all laboratories, bridging the gap between ad hoc data analysis and systematic expertise.
  • To manage cloud-based analytics data architecture and AI deployment pipelines for scalable machine learning solutions and maintain version control systems for collaborative development.

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • Background in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or related field with strong AI/ML focus
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in machine learning and AI applications
  • Proficiency in Python and R for data analysis and ML model development
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
  • Strong experience in data integration from multiple sources and systems
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and database management
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple laboratory divisions

Advantageous to have:

  • Experience with computer vision, natural language processing, and generative AI technologies
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) in analytical/forensic environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for ML deployment
  • Knowledge of MLOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with big data technologies and data warehousing solutions
  • Understanding of forensic science or analytical chemistry applications
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) in the hospital, biopharma, or chemical testing industry
