What the role is

You will be the Manager for Ancillary Services and Inspection Section (ASI) under the Marine Safety and Port Operations Division. Your role will focus on ensuring essential services like water supply to vessels, cargo operations at private wharves, and waste collection services operate efficiently and meet regulatory standards.

What you will be working on

You will lead three key operational areas vital to port functionality:

  • Garbage collection and flotsam clearance throughout the Port of Singapore, including overseeing an innovative autonomous flotsam craft project

  • Water sales and supply operations across waterfront facilities to ensure vessels have reliable access to fresh water

  • Cargo operations at private wharves to maintain smooth logistics flow

Your responsibilities will include contract and project management, policy development through reviewing processes and representing MPA in inter-agency discussions, and daily operations such as approving water supply requests, managing public feedback on marine litter, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong project and contract management capabilities and experience in maritime-related operational roles. The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders, from contractors to members of the public

  • Analytical abilities for reviewing policies, assessing processes, and developing recommendations for senior management

  • Project management experience with proven ability to work in teams, manage contractors, and meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills for documentation, reporting, and professional handling of public feedback

  • Proficiency with standard office software and ability to conduct thorough investigations when operational issues arise
