What the role is
You'll be part of Singapore's transformation of the built environment sector, working on communications that matter to the nation's development. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team to shape public perception of Singapore’s built environment sector, communicate policies which are crucial for driving industry transformation, setting rigorous standards in building safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
What you will be working on
Strategic and Integrated Communications Leadership
Develop and execute comprehensive integrated communication strategies that align with policy objectives. You'll engage internal and external stakeholders to craft compelling narratives, identify target audiences, and select the most effective channels to deliver key messages that drive desired outcomes.
Media Relations Excellence
Cultivate strong relationships with media partners, ranging from mainstream news outlets and trade media to content partnerships. You'll oversee the handling of complex media queries, crisis communications planning, and ensure consistent, accurate messaging across all platforms.
Sensing and Analytics
Actively monitor developing issues and assess public perception and impact on BCA and the built environment sector. Tailor communications strategy to drive desired outcomes using a data-driven approach.
Crisis Communications and Planning
Ensure that BCA is always ready to respond effectively and expeditiously to any crisis and incident. During steady state period, actively review crisis communication protocol and response and lead the team in participating in crisis exercises, and recommending suitable training to build organisational capabilities.
Team Development and Management
Lead a driven team of communications professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that delivers results. You'll guide staff in translating communication strategies into detailed implementation plans whilst building capabilities across the team.
What we are looking for
At least 8 years of experience in managing teams and leading strategic communications, media relations, including experience in issues and crisis communication, public education programmes, or marketing communications
Experience in driving cross-functional collaboration across multiple stakeholders
Demonstrates integrity and maturity in professional dealings
Exceptional written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to distill and translate technical details into compelling narratives
Strong leadership abilities with experience developing and motivating teams
Creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders, build networks and collaborate effectively
Experience and proven track record in integrated communications campaigns will be a bonus
