You will be part of the Government Finance Functional Office team that is driving the AI Strategy and transformation for public sector finance workforce and function.
Acting as the team's go-to AI expert, you will bridge strategy and execution by working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to translate AI opportunities into practical, scalable solutions for the Finance community.

What you will be working on
You will assist the team in the following key areas:
I. AI Strategy and Execution
• Lead the development and execution of the Public Sector Finance AI Strategy and roadmap to drive AI adoption across the Finance function.
• Manage an end-to-end AI use case pipeline, from problem framing and business case through pilot and scale, partnering with IT teams and vendors to deliver outcomes.
• Develop best practice playbooks and ensure responsible AI principles are embedded in all use cases.
II. Capability Development and Change Management
• Build and run AI capability programmes for the Finance community, including training pathways, communities of practice and workshops to grow AI literacy at scale.
• Serve as the team's go-to AI expert. Help the team navigate tools, identify opportunities, and translate AI concepts into practical applications for finance officers.
III. Stakeholder Engagement and Community Building
• Organise and facilitate engagement sessions, hackathons, and recognition programmes to build community, surface ideas and maintain momentum across agencies.
• Engage senior leaders, finance managers and working-level officers to secure buy-in, gather feedback, and keep AI initiatives grounded in real business needs.
IV. Performance Measurement and Reporting
• Define and track KPIs across AI initiatives, covering adoption, benefits realisation, and risk indicators, to support reporting to senior leadership.
What we are looking for
Functional/Technical Competencies:
• Background in public sector finance, accounting, policy, computer science, data analytics, AI or a related discipline
• Experience in strategy, programme management, or transformation delivery are highly preferred
• Candidates with 5 or more years of relevant prior work experience may be considered for more senior position
• Strong interest in AI and digital transformation, with working familiarity across AI concepts including generative AI / LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI and prompt engineering, and the ability to translate these into practical business applications.
• Experience working with or deploying AI tools is an advantage; prior hands-on development is not required but familiarity with AI workflows and vendor ecosystems is valued.

• Ability to engage different stakeholder groups (e.g. senior management, finance leaders, finance middle managers)
• People oriented and able to foster relationships with stakeholders to obtain buy-in for new or changed policies
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with ability to translate technical concepts into clear recommendations for senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups
• Self-motivated, proactive, meticulous, and able to multi-task
• Energetic, highly enthusiastic and demonstrate willingness to learn
