What the role is

The job-holder will oversee the daily systems management in the Home Team Sustainment Centre – HTSC, working with various stakeholders to ensure that the HTSC is monitored, maintained and any disruption to the system is kept within prescribed system availability. Apart from systems management, job-holder is required to be well versed in project management, vendor management and contract management.

What you will be working on

He/She is responsible for the following: Systems Management • Assist Head (Systems Management) in managing the systems delivered to HTSC for Day 2 operations. • Work closely with Day 1 PMTs to ensure that the systems and infrastructure are built in accordance with the technical specifications. • Ensure Handing-Over-Taking-Over documentations are in order before taking over the system. • Oversee all system issues and ensure minimum system downtime by keeping within the contracted system availability figures, to manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities, timely vulnerability patching, accounts review and certificates renewal. • Work closely with Facility Management (FM) Engineers and maintenance vendors to support the maintenance programme, i.e., the day-to-day running of the systems in HTSC. This include ensuring the availability of Systems Infrastructure comprising servers, storage, logs collectors at all remote sites, network connectivity, system backup, daily update of security signature, system patch, users account management, port scanning against current systems. • Work closely with HTDs’ PMTs to ensure systems are onboarded to HTSC for monitoring. • Any other tasks assigned that are related to ensuring the smooth operations of the HTSC systems. Project Management • Lifecycle project management of new projects, i.e., requirements gathering, AOR and AOB approval, procurement, contracting, tech refresh, maintenance and retirement. • Finance Budget tracking and resource utilisation Contract Management • Raising of Purchase Orders and verification of invoices • Ensure that the Service Level Agreement of contracts are met • Prepare documentations for liquidated damages, when required • Ensure contracts are renewed or replaced timely • Work out Contract Variations when required Vendor Management • Work closely with vendors to ensure the works are carried out in accordance with the contracts. • Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve issues and manage vendors’ performance during the execution of the works required.

What we are looking for

• Tertiary Education in Engineering or IT equivalent. • Certifications in PMP, CISSP, GCIH or GSEC are preferred. • Government Home Team Ops knowledge and good understanding of their systems & networks are preferred. • Strong effective communications skills. • Good time management and organizational skills. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • A team player with the ability to work autonomously. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
