What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

The Digital Building Innovation Centre (DBIC) is dedicated to drive digital transformation within the built environment sector. DBIC focuses on leveraging technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD), and automation to enhance project efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. Through collaboration with industry partners, DBIC plays a pivotal role in shaping a future-ready workforce and advancing innovation in building, construction and facilities management.

Reporting to the Deputy Director or other senior designations, the appointee will be part of the team from Singapore Polytechnic’s Digital Building Innovation Centre (DBIC). The appointee will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, including supporting design teams and industry partners with tasks related to BIM processes and visual content production. He/she will take on multiple projects, monitor them and meet deadlines.

What you will be working on

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to BIM model development, coordination, maintenance, and updates across projects, supporting design workflows and ensuring model accuracy and consistency.
• Produce and enhance architectural visualisations, renderings, walkthroughs/flythroughs, and presentation materials using tools such as Photoshop, Twinmotion, and similar software.
• Support design teams and industry partners with tasks related to BIM processes and visual content production.
• Assist in the development, editing, and updating of course materials for training and educational purposes.
• Proactively learn and explore new software, tools, and skills to support continuous improvement and evolving project needs.

What we are looking for

Requirements:

• Possesses a Diploma in Architecture or a related qualification.
• Demonstrates proficiency in BIM software, particularly Revit, with a strong interest in advancing construction technology and digital workflows.
• Possesses strong visual communication skills, with proficiency in Photoshop or similar tools for producing high-quality renderings and presentation materials.
• Demonstrates competency in 3D modelling and visualisation software such as SketchUp, Twinmotion, Forma, and/or other relevant platforms.
• Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and coordination tasks.
• Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of architectural concepts and design principles.
• Possesses good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Applicants must have no prior working experience and must be prepared to commit to a full-time traineeship.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2026 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2027 are eligible for the programme as well.
