ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/ SENIOR EXECUTIVE (TRAINING ACCELERATOR), SSMART OFFICE

What the role is

You will be part of the Sustainability Skills for Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience Transformation (SSMART) Office, which functions as a planner, driver and coordinator for sustainability training across Whole-Of-Government (WOG), including MSE and its Statutory Boards. SSMART Office oversees: • Building capabilities of public officers for sustainability priorities and work, and to tackle emerging climate change challenges • Development of key partnerships with other government agencies and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to design training programmes and courses • Curation of knowledge and key learnings into learning cases for sustainability training • Scaling of training programmes for public officers, including middle management, and other leaders, guided by the Climate Change and Sustainability (CC&S) Learning Framework • Tracking of sustainability training progress, and providing regular updates on sustainability training development and impact • Coordination for WOG sustainability training, including representing MSE at inter-agency platforms and coordinate Ministry family positions on WOG issues

What you will be working on

Supporting the Team Lead in coordinating CC&S training opportunities and growing the outreach across WOG, your key responsibilities include: • [CC&S Training Programmes] Aligning programmes to desired learning outcomes, and coordinating trainings in partnership with government agencies and Institutes of Higher Learning • [CC&S Seminars and Workshops] Developing and organising CC&S seminars and workshops, including speaker engagement, logistics arrangements, and post-event follow-ups • [CC&S e-Learning] Managing the e-learning module development pipeline, deploying modules and digital learning resources, and growing the take-up • [CC&S Mainstreaming] Contributing to integrating CC&S competencies in key programmes across WOG, including developing facilitation resources and coordinating speakers across partner programmes • [CC&S Training Publicity] Publicising training opportunities and engaging public officers to encourage continued lifelong learning

What we are looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in any discipline, with good knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues • Relevant experience in learning and development, capability building, or organisational development • Independent, proactive, self-motivated, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, and multi-task in a dynamic environment • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take on emcee roles and facilitate workshops and seminars confidently • Familiarity with AI tools such as Notebook LM and other emerging technologies to support training curation, knowledge management, and learning design • Proficiency in design, publication and e-learning design tools such as Canva, Articulate, Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite
