What the role is

You are responsible to assist the Head Digital and Intelligence Service Safety Inspectorate (Head DSI) in planning annual audits and lead the conduct of comprehensive safety audits, assistance visits, and spot checks across Defence Intelligence Service (DIS) units. You will submit audit reports to Head DSI for approval and drive safety excellence across the organisation.

What you will be working on

- Assist Head DSI in developing the Annual Audit Plan, including coordinating with selected units on their availability for audits throughout the year - Lead your Audit Team to conduct audits on units' safety management systems to reinforce a strong safety culture and provide overall assessments on safety and health status - Identify and report areas of non-conformance and possible latent conditions that may lead to safety incidents - Review and clarify with units on their safety processes and procedures - Ensure units are prepared for Headquarters DIS and external audits by conducting internal checks to maintain consistency in safety standards across DIS units - Submit comprehensive audit reports to Head DSI for approval and follow-up actions Challenge(s) - Mastering complex audit processes and staying current with all relevant safety rules, documents, and safety-related executive compliance requirements - Applying critical thinking skills to provide fair assessments of audit findings and develop suitable recommendations for improvement

What we are looking for

- Education in Technology, Science, or a related field - At least 6 years of relevant experience in the safety audit or related field - Knowledge in audit management and delivery, risk management and risk assessment is advantageous - Strong planning and organisation skills - Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities with proven leadership experience - Strong communication and interpersonal skills Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
