What you will be working on
The incumbent will drive the strategic planning and seamless implementation of ActiveSG Para Sport Academy (PSA) initiatives. This role is pivotal in orchestrating a diverse portfolio of programmes, events, and activities, with a particular focus on at least 3 para sport programmes and community competitions and activities. Her/She will play a crucial role in ensuring cohesive development and execution of PSA's comprehensive para-sport offerings, contributing significantly to PSA's mission of fostering inclusive sports participation and excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Plan and develop Para Sport Academy programmes, events, and activities.
• Support in the design and implementation of comprehensive capability development initiatives, which include areas such as coach development, programme innovation, and strategies for engaging people with disabilities.
• Identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve and expand the Para Sport Academy's public outreach, programme offerings and participation opportunities.
• Review and improve existing para sport programmes (para swimming and wheelchair rugby), while planning and developing new ones, with a focus on identifying growth areas and implementing strategies accordingly.
• Handle day-to-day operational tasks including participant registration, scheduling, facilities booking, budget tracking, and maintaining accurate records and databases.
• Plan and execute para sport events and competitions end-to-end, including overseas competitions, and coordinate with relevant bodies.
• Recruit, schedule, and support coaches across programmes, including organising training and development activities and managing substitutions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, parents, and coaches, while also engaging with disability organisations, sports bodies, government agencies, and potential partners.
• Establish connections with schools, community groups, and social service agencies to raise awareness of para sport programmes, match suitable programmes to their constituent or clients groups.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
• At least 5 years of proven experience and/or track record in relevant areas
• Good understanding of Singapore sporting ecosystem
• Strong work ethics, self-driven and a fast learner
• Deep understanding of both the sports sector and disability issues
• Experience in competitive sport and/or coaching will be an advantage
• Genuine understanding and commitment to disability inclusion and ability to consider diverse perspectives and needs in decision-making
• Skill in facilitating cross-divisional coordination
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Good organisational, project management and administrative skills.
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances
• Meticulous approach to monitoring and tracking multiple initiatives
• Strong interpersonal skills and strategic thinking for diverse stakeholder management
• Adaptable, resilient, and committed to promoting inclusivity in sports
• Responsive to dynamic changes and takes initiative
The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a Fixed Term contract in the first instance.
