Senior Manager (IT Infrastructure)
What the role is
What you will be working on
Strategic Planning and Leadership
Drive the development and execution of comprehensive infrastructure modernisation strategies aligned with organisational objectives. Lead cross-functional teams through complex transformation projects, establishing clear roadmaps and milestones for legacy system migration and modernisation initiatives.
Infrastructure Branch Operations Management
Assist in leading the operational aspects of infrastructure branch management, including branch coordination, service delivery standards, and inter-branch communication strategies. Ensure consistent operational procedures and service quality across all infrastructure branches during modernisation initiatives. Develop and maintain operational guidelines that reflect modern infrastructure capabilities and branch-specific requirements.
Technical Architecture and Implementation
Design and oversee the implementation of modern infrastructure solutions, including cloud platforms, containerisation, microservices architectures, and automation frameworks. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance scalability, reliability, and performance whilst reducing technical debt.
Project Management and Delivery
Manage multiple concurrent modernisation projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget constraints. Coordinate with various stakeholders including technical teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution and change management.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify and mitigate risks associated with infrastructure transformation, including security vulnerabilities, data integrity concerns, and operational disruptions. Ensure all modernisation efforts comply with relevant regulatory requirements, security standards, and organisational policies.
Team Development and Collaboration
Build and mentor high-performing technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborate with enterprise architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure modernisation efforts support broader organisational goals.
What we are looking for
Essential Qualifications
Education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles overseeing large-scale transformation projects.
Technical Expertise
Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), infrastructure as code, containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices. Strong understanding of network architecture, security frameworks, database systems, and enterprise integration patterns.
Leadership and Communication Skills
Proven track record of leading technical teams through complex transformations, with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into business value and manage competing priorities in dynamic environments.
Infra Operations Experience
Strong background in infra branch operations management.
Understanding of branch performance metrics, inter-branch communication protocols, and operational excellence frameworks.
Industry Knowledge
Deep understanding of infrastructure modernisation best practices, including migration strategies, risk assessment methodologies, and change management approaches. Experience with ITIL frameworks, agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture principles.
