Project: Enhancing Work Processes: Development of AI-Enabled Knowledge Management and Case Management System
This internship offers a practical opportunity to apply AI and software development skills to improve how the division works. The intern will contribute across two areas. For knowledge management, the intern will explore and implement AI-based tools to help the division better organise and retrieve its resources, reducing reliance on manual processes and expanding the division's use of AI. For case management, the intern will design and build a Python-based Case Management System with a user-friendly interface for officers to log, track, and manage cases.

What you will be working on
(1) An AI-based knowledge management solution to improve how the division organises and retrieves its resources;
(2) A Python-based Case Management System with a working user interface for officers to log and track cases, along with a handover guide.
Learning outcomes: Practical experience applying AI tools, building software for end users, and working within a public service environment.
What we are looking for
- Knowledge or experience in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accountancy, Actuarial Science or subjects with substantial quantitative content
- Proficiency in Python, particularly for building user interfaces (e.g. Tkinter).
- Familiarity with AI concepts and tools is advantageous for the knowledge management scope.
- Basic understanding of databases or data handling (e.g. SQL, Pandas) is a bonus.
- An interest in applying technology to practical problems in a public service setting is valued.
Internship Period: Aug - Dec 2026
Part Time Option Available; Min. 3 Days a Week
