Senior Engineer / Engineer (Mechanical) - Contract

You will be part of a team involved in the design review process of mechanical system design in new HDB developments and establishing material specifications, requirements, and standardized design approaches for mechanical services, to achieve design integration within the development while meeting regulatory compliance and client requirements. You will also be involved in carrying out design reviews at project sites for quality assurance and compliance.

You will interact with consultants across different disciplines to review building mechanical services designs for design integration, authority compliance, and user requirements. You will also be involved in engagement with regulatory authorities and standards committees to establish design standards, requirements for material specifications and developing guidelines to drive design integration for mechanical systems in public housing developments, while meeting regulatory compliance and client requirements. You will be involved in mechanical systems such as sanitary, plumbing, gas, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation, integrated building management system, fire protection, etc. for public housing developments. In the course of your duties, you will be exposed to Building Information Modelling (BIM) and be given opportunity to carry out research on mechanical systems for suitability and adoption in new HDB developments to enhance productivity and sustainability. You will also be expected to keep abreast of the latest mechanical system related materials, technologies, and industry developments, evaluating their relevance and potential application for use in HDB projects to drive innovation and improve project outcomes.

You should possess a relevant background in Mechanical Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (Singapore) with 3 to 5 years of working experience in design and supervision of mechanical building services in building projects. Have a positive attitude, the ability to handle challenges and good interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must be able to work independently with a sound knowledge of the relevant codes, design and construction practices. Shortlisted candidates will be offered the role on a 1+1 year contract. Subject to the department's needs and the individual's performance, there may be opportunities for contract renewal or conversion to a permanent position.
