What the role is

The Senior Executive / Manager, Media Relations and Planning will provide comprehensive strategic communications consultancy to organisational clusters while developing and implementing information planning frameworks across networks. This role combines strategic media relations, brand management, crisis communications, and stakeholder coordination with specialised information planning and network coordination functions to strengthen MUIS's communication capabilities and stakeholder engagement across Islamic institutions and community groups.

What you will be working on

Stakeholder Network Management

  • Develop Communications Practice Group and Mosque Communications Networks engagement frameworks, conduct comprehensive stakeholder mapping, and establish feedback processes

  • Coordinate communication calendars and deliver relationship management training

  • Success measured through stakeholder satisfaction scores, engagement participation rates, and relationship quality assessments

Strategic Communications Consultancy

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies including standardised press release templates, media query protocols, and interview training programmes

  • Establish and maintain media monitoring systems and coordinate joint media events

  • Performance measured through media coverage quality, response times, and stakeholder feedback

Corporate Branding and Communications Management

  • Create and maintain brand guidelines, develop cluster-specific communication toolkits, and conduct brand compliance monitoring

  • Coordinate annual report production, corporate collateral design, photography management, and video production

  • Effectiveness evaluated through brand consistency audits and communication material quality assessments

Crisis Communications and Preparedness

  • Establish crisis communication protocols, develop response templates, and conduct simulation training exercises

  • Maintain real-time communication channels and perform post-crisis evaluations

  • Success measured through crisis response effectiveness, stakeholder confidence, and organisational preparedness levels

Information Planning and Network Coordination

  • Develop strategic content calendars, facilitate cross-cluster coordination, and ensure message alignment across organisational communications

  • Create and maintain stakeholder engagement schedules, design communication practice training programmes, and coordinate content alignment between networks

  • Monitor information flow effectiveness, implement improvement measures, and manage network feedback mechanisms

  • Performance evaluated through stakeholder engagement metrics, communication effectiveness surveys, and network coordination success rates

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in strategic communications, media relations, or stakeholder coordination

  • Strong team player and demonstrate experience in network management and information planning frameworks

  • Show proven track record in developing communication protocols and training programmes

  • Possess advanced media relations expertise and crisis communication experience

  • Have strong brand management capabilities and stakeholder engagement proficiency

  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills and content strategy development experience

  • Show strong facilitation and relationship management capabilities

  • Be proficient in digital communication platforms and analytics tools

  • Have experience in developing communication frameworks and standardised protocols

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (essential)

  • Have Malay language capabilities (preferred for stakeholder engagement)

  • Possess knowledge of Muslim community structures and cultural sensitivities (preferred)

  • Have experience in government or public-sector communications (preferred but not essential)

  • Show background in managing consultancy models across multiple business units

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
