The job of an academic leader is challenging and meaningful. Beyond having strong educational and industry understanding, the appointee must possess a passion for student development, industry engagement and programme leadership. The role involves leading and coordinating internship-related matters across the School, strengthening partnerships with industry, and driving initiatives that enhance students’ workplace learning outcomes and employability. There will also be opportunities to contribute to policy development, process innovation and school-level strategic initiatives. Successful candidates are expected to be resourceful, collaborative and innovative, with strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

What you will be working on

Internship Programme Coordination and Industry Engagement
The appointee will provide leadership in the planning, coordination and enhancement of internship programmes within the School of Computing, supporting students, staff and industry partners to deliver meaningful workplace learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate School-wide internship matters, including policies, processes, operations and student placement strategies.
  • Work closely with Course Chairs, Internship Facilitators and industry partners to support the effective implementation and continuous enhancement of internship programmes.
  • Drive initiatives related to internship quality assurance, assessment practices, student support and industry engagement.
  • Develop and review internship frameworks, guidelines and operational processes to improve efficiency, consistency and student outcomes.
  • Support partnership development with companies and external stakeholders to expand internship opportunities and strengthen industry collaboration.
  • Oversee internship-related communications, briefings and engagement activities for students, staff and employers.
  • Analyse internship data, trends and feedback to inform improvements, planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Support School and Institutional strategic initiatives through committee work, process improvement projects and new programme or policy development.

What we are looking for

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in education, programme management, industry engagement or internship/work-integrated learning administration.
  • Experience in managing academic-industry partnerships, student development initiatives or large-scale programme coordination would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of internship operations, workplace learning, assessment practices and industry engagement.
  • Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management and project management skills.
  • Passionate about student development and mentoring, with a strong commitment to enhancing students’ employability and professional growth.
  • Self-driven, resourceful and able to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant qualification in Computing, Education, Business, Management or related disciplines. Postgraduate qualifications and relevant professional certifications would be an added advantage.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
