The jobholder will be at the forefront to manage, integrate and deliver a diverse range of transformative and operationally ready solutions for homeland security and enforcement needs. To achieve this, technology is seen as a key enabler and multiplier force to transform and enhance our T&L ecosystem and capabilities across Home Team. With many emerging technologies such as AR/VR/XR, AI/ML, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics, there are many possibilities on what we can achieve together. However, a good team of HTX engineers will help to bring these possibilities and benefits to reality. The Job Holder will assist Head (Simulation, Training Systems) to ensure the continuity and sustainment (and adherence to IM8) for training systems for the Home Team.

What you will be working on

The jobholder will be responsible for the following: • Oversee the planning, implementation, and sustainment of training systems, working closely with various stakeholders, including HTD project managers and solution providers/vendors. • Consolidate requirements across HTDs, obtain approval for project requirements, and ensure timely project delivery within the committed schedule and budget, ensuring project issues are timely resolved or escalated to management for attention. • Provide regular updates to WOG/MHA/HTX management on project progress and manage project risks effectively. • Identify potential project risks early and assess its implications to the organisation and project, and to recommend mitigating measures to manage the risks and minimise project delay. • Effectively engage and manage all relevant stakeholders to deliver system. • Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so the system is delivered according to contractual requirements. • Prepare technical documents such as technical specifications (for tenders), system design documents, technical interface agreements, various test plans (factory acceptance, on site acceptance, etc.) and test reports, if required. • Work with external agencies and/or Home Team Departments (HTDs) to bring in the necessary systems and data through proper technical interface agreements. • Manage and ensure the operational efficiency of the training systems, including vendor compliance, hardware/software updates, and budget management, while also addressing cybersecurity audit findings and enforcing government-mandated security measures.

What we are looking for

Job Requirements • Tertiary qualification in Engineering/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or relevant disciplines. • Preferably more than 3-5 years of relevant working experience. • Participated in delivering system and software product with past development experience. • Good analytical, interpersonal, collaboration, communications, and facilitation skills. • Competent, self-motivated, pro-active, dedicated, and responsible self-starter. • Experience in implementation of projects in at least one of the following areas (Simulators, AR/VR/XR, Design Thinking) will be an added advantage. • Certification in Project Management and Enterprise Architecture will be an added advantage too Jobholder Characteristics • Possess excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. • Strong analytical capabilities, being able to take in multiple streams of information from diverse stakeholders and apply an organisational perspective in digesting or prioritising them; • Able to integrate information from a wide range of sources in a complex environment and synthesise them into the key issues and considerations. • Generates innovative ideas and solutions that can be practically executed and bring about significant gains and benefits to the organisation. • Ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Can work independently and as a team. All new appointees are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure overtime, based on performance.
