What the role is

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant to conduct horizon scanning and AI security assessments. The successful candidate will participate in assessing new security and threat developments in the AI landscape, conduct security assessment of AI, and participate in Whole-of-Government (WoG) forums to provide technical advice on AI security risks, mitigation strategies, and best practices. This role requires a good understanding of AI technologies, cybersecurity principles, and risk management methodologies. The Consultant will also collaborate with other government agencies and industry partners to develop coordinated approaches to AI security challenges, while staying at the forefront of global AI security trends and regulatory developments.

What you will be working on

Responsibilities • Developing methodologies for assessing security risks of AI systems and designing robust security architectures for AI systems • Conducting hands-on security testing and assessments of AI systems and components, identifying vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors • Developing technical guidance for the secure adoption of AI technologies, providing recommendations to de-risk AI adoption for government agencies, critical information infrastructures Owners and enterprises. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, government agencies and industry partners through developing and implementing coordinated approaches to address AI security challenges.

What we are looking for

Requirements • Relevant qualifications and experience in cybersecurity and AI security (e.g., ML, GenAI, Agentic AI). • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • Good knowledge of AI technologies (e.g., ML, GenAI, Agentic AI), including neural networks, deep learning, and reinforcement learning. • Good knowledge of software development, system architecture and network architecture. • Familiarity with relevant AI security frameworks and standards. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Possess experience working in cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams. • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, SANS) and knowledge in security testing methodologies are a plus.
