What the role is

Responsible for designing and delivering curriculum for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes in areas such as Precision Machining, CAD, Additive Manufacturing, Metrology, and Industry 4.0 technologies. The role involves contributing to applied R&D and industry collaboration projects, particularly in CNC machining and smart manufacturing domains. It includes mentoring and guiding students in academic learning, projects, and career development, as well as supervising student projects and assessments. The position also supports academic administration, lesson planning, and student engagement activities, while maintaining active industry engagement to stay updated with advancements in the Precision Engineering sector.

What you will be working on

  • Design, develop, and deliver curriculum for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) in areas such as Precision Machining, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Additive Manufacturing, Metrology, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

  • Lead and contribute to the development of applied R&D and industry collaboration projects, especially in CNC machining and Industry 4.0 domains.

  • Guide and mentor learners through academic, project, and career development, including supervision of student projects.

  • Undertake academic-related responsibilities such as lesson planning, assessment, project supervision, and student engagement

  • Support School’s administrative and operational tasks as and when required

  • Keep abreast of and respond to advancements in Precision Engineering landscape through active engagement with industry and professional bodies/communities.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant qualifications in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the Manufacturing or Precision Engineering sector.

  • Candidate should possess relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • CNC Machining (Turning and Milling)

    • Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)

    • IoT applications in Manufacturing environment

    • Metrology and measurement systems, including use of advanced equipment (e.g., CMM, Vision Systems, 3D Scanners)

    • Additive manufacturing

    • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, MSSQL)
