What the role is

The Digital Transformation cluster is responsible for driving digital transformation projects across major economic sectors and ecosystems. The team works closely with public and private sectors to drive impactful digitalisation projects, solving complex business-technology problems, involving business model transformation, innovative technology applications and regulatory considerations.

We focus on project seeding and scoping, execution, and implementation to ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within budget and achieve intended objectives which include targeted and widespread adoption. Current areas of focus include Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), digital sustainability, Digital Twin and Extended Reality.

What you will be working on

Leading a small team in the AMR group, you will promote and drive the tech and industry development of AMR initiatives:

  • Support IMDA’s vision in promoting and driving AMR initiatives for enterprises and industries, playing a key role in developing strategies and prioritising value-driven innovative projects and drive future innovation efforts, working closely with both public and private sector partners.
  • Identify key ecosystem and industry gaps from both users and AMR tech providers and design strategies and implement meaningful initiatives to help overcome these gaps so that AMR can be deployed and adopted at scale by users from different industries.
  • Scout for new technologies, build collaborative networks with partner agencies, multipliers, technology providers, system integrators, research institutes and develop future solutions that meet industry needs.
  • Synergise with Whole-of-Government efforts, establish guidelines, standards and policies to build AMR thought leadership.
  • Scope, administer and project manage use-case deployment, implementing strategies for eventual commercialisation or scale-up adoption to more potential users. This includes managing budgets, assessing, and monitoring project outcomes and recommending enhancements where necessary.
  • Support suitable and relevant communications and marketing efforts to build awareness and encourage adoption.
  • Attract and hire suitable officers and develop plans to grow, train and retain talents in the team.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate possesses:

  • At least a degree in related fields (Computer Science/Engineering, Robotics etc.)
  • At least 10 years of work experience in AMR/Robotics landscape or relevant domains
  • Good understanding of project execution and has strong project management skills
  • Experience in strategy development, partner engagements and industry development work
  • Able to function with ambiguity, visualise outcomes and provide clarity for the stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging multiple stakeholders
