What the role is

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Aerospace Engineering (Avonics) in the School of Engineering.

We are seeking an experienced avionics professional to join our Aerospace Engineering team as a Lecturer specializing in aircraft electrical and avionics systems. The successful candidate will teach core avionics modules, develop industry-relevant curriculum, and support student development through mentoring and overseas learning opportunities. This role offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of aerospace professionals while maintaining strong connections with Singapore's vibrant aerospace industry. The position requires expertise in aircraft electrical systems, avionics maintenance, and modern aerospace technologies.

What you will be working on

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, deliver and assess avionics-related adult learning courses and diploma modules

  • Design and deliver modules aligned with industry needs and focused on practical training

  • Monitor and guide student progress and learning outcomes in modules and projects

  • Build and maintain industry partnerships, to identify and spearhead new opportunities and collaboration with industry

  • Support course management team in curriculum review, development and other administrative tasks

  • Support student development in the area of education, including serving as advisor for students and leading overseas trips

  • Participate in pedagogical training, and keep updated with industry developments and trends

  • Work on industry or consultancy project to stay relevant in your profession.

  • Lead or support applied R&D projects in collaboration with industry partners, focusing on technology development for aerospace industry.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent

  • Experience with avionics testing equipment and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of avionics or aerospace electrical systems

  • Passionate about education and possess strong interest in nurturing, teaching, mentoring and interacting with students.

  • Experience in training/mentoring would be an advantage. 

  • CAAS B2 licence would be an advantage. 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.
