AI PRODUCT MANAGER - DIGITAL SERVICES & TECHNOLOGY OFFICE
What the role is
The AI Product Manager will play a central role in advancing NP's AI transformation strategy. This role focuses on harnessing AI to improve how the institution operates - driving efficiency, automating processes, and enabling smarter, data-informed decision-making across administrative and support functions. Working closely with schools/departments such as HR, Finance, Student Services, and Academic Schools, the AI Product Manager will identify opportunities, define product vision, and manage the full lifecycle of AI solutions from ideation through to deployment and continuous improvement.
What you will be working on
Product Ownership
Define and maintain a prioritised roadmap for AI products and initiatives, aligned with NP's institutional strategy and digital transformation goals.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for AI adoption across administrative and operational domains, including process automation, IT service management, agentic systems and data analytics for institutional decision-making.
Lead cross-functional teams through the end-to-end product lifecycle: problem discovery, user research, solution design, agile development, testing, and deployment.
Project Delivery
Define product requirements, MVPs, success metrics, feature releases, and go-live criteria in collaboration with solution architects, engineers, and UX designers.
Oversee in-house managed solutions, vendor and solution partner management, including evaluation, procurement support, and performance monitoring for third-party AI products and platforms.
Ensure AI products comply with NP’s IT governance, data privacy regulations, and ethical AI guidelines. Proactively address issues of data security, model bias, and user adoption through proper testing, training, and change management.
Support change management efforts to drive adoption of AI tools across NP's administrative functions.
Collaboration
Collaborate closely with schools/departments to understand their needs and pain points. Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating business requirements into AI solution specifications and articulating the benefits of AI products.
Collaborate with NP's IT infrastructure, data, security and enterprise systems teams to ensure solutions are integrated and well-supported.
What we are looking for
Degree or postgraduate qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in product management or digital project management, with at least 2 years managing AI, data, or analytics-driven products or initiatives.
Skills & Certifications
Demonstrated track record of delivering digital or AI products from ideation through to launch and adoption.
Good conceptual understanding of AI/ML technologies, LLMs, RPA, and intelligent workflow tools — sufficient to evaluate solutions and communicate with technical teams.
Familiarity with agile practices (Scrum, Kanban), design thinking, and lean product methodologies.
Working knowledge of enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, Power Platform, or cloud AI services (Azure, AWS, GCP) is advantageous.
Attributes
Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to prioritisation and decision-making.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders including senior management.
Ability to manage ambiguity, navigate competing priorities, and adapt product strategy as institutional needs evolve.
Collaborative working style with the ability to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
