What the role is

• To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility ensuring quality
standards are maintained at all times; ensuring all equipment, rooms and bookings
are set up correctly and on time as required by the PAssion Wave outlet’s
programmes.

• To market, plan and develop quality programmes in promoting and increasing
engagement with residents thru waterfront lifestyle activities, forming of Interest
Groups (IGs), recruitment of WeCare Volunteers and networking with partners.
These include conceptualising and implementing strategies in the areas of
customization, community engagement and communications.

• To build and maintain relationships with potential, new and current partners and
also increase and collaborate with residents and partners on new initiatives and
programmes and gather ground sensing.

• To monitor and supervise the PAssion Wave outlet in providing quality customer
service and safe water sports & waterfront lifestyle courses/ programmes/activities
for young families, PMETs and the youths.

• To improve operational management systems, ensure processes are correct, cost
effective and timely and maintain best practices that guarantee PA’s well-being.

• To ensure the safe operations of the activities and the safety of the participants at
the outlet.

What you will be working on

Grassroots & Partners Engagement

• Establish and expand good network with PA Divisions, PAssion Wave Advisory & Outreach Committees, GROs, Corporate Partners and external agencies to identify and develop new and improve existing programmes to widen outreach and enhance engagement.

• Increase and deepen engagement with informal social groups by providing community space and programming to enable more bonding opportunities and facilitate the forming of Interest Groups (IGs) and recruitment of WeCare Volunteers

• Provide secretariat support and assist in managing the accounts and KPI management for PAssion Wave Outreach Committee.

Programmes & Activities

• Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of innovative programmes/activities and at the same time promote awareness of waterfront lifestyle and water sports programmes.

• To conceptualize and execute events and partnership events to engage the community.

• Coordinate and manage PA trainers and a suite of waterfront lifestyle programmes and outlet services to cater to the emerging needs of the community leaders and members.

• Expand current networks, collaborate and develop joint projects/programmes with Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs), schools and partners to cater to the changing demands and needs of residents today

• Ensure that programmes/activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organisation.

• Take lead in publicity for outlet related events, programmes and activities.

• Assist Senior Manager to develop more social media marketing to raise awareness among the youths, PMEs and young parents

• Ensure the effective and efficient programme delivery.

• Plan and recruit volunteers and form Interest Groups through platforms such as programme, activities and events

Outlet Operations

• Responsible for the overall administration and operational efficiency of the PAssion Wave outlet

• Improve operational management systems, ensure processes are cost effective and timely and maintain best practices that are in line with senior management’s strategies and support the PA’s missions and objectives.

• Implement and review workplans effectively and in line with the goals of PAssion Wave Team.

• Plan and co-ordinate water sports & waterfront lifestyle courses, activities, services and programmes of the PAssion Wave outlet.

• Ensure proper up keeping of the building and grounds of the PAssion Wave outlet • Supervise and guides other staff under his/her charge.

• Ensure proper budgeting, accounting and cash management of the PAssion Wave outlet account and activity group to maintain the integrity of the PA.

• Work closely with Volunteers and PA Trainers in planning and implementing water sports & waterfront lifestyle programmes and activities.

• Evaluate & audit PAssion Wave outlet programmes and services delivered by External Operators

• Monitor the performance of PA Trainers with respect to course safety and quality management so as to maintain a high level of safety and quality of programmes.

• Recruit and supervise the selection of potential Trainers & Operators

• Mobilise volunteers and PA Trainers to participate in projects, national campaigns and activities organised or endorsed by the People’s Association.

• Establish and maintain a network with local and overseas organisations on accredited training courses and water & land sports type activities to maintain industry awareness.

• Conduct audit checks on stores and inventory systems to ensure sufficient stock and sea-worthiness of training and water & land sports equipment.

• Supervise the emergency evacuation of casualties and work with management in times of crisis.

• Co-ordinate facilities administration between Tenants, Managing & Marketing Agents (MA), contractors, etc

• To perform safety operations including and not limited:

- launching/ driving the powerboat to perform. search and rescues where needed,

- launch and recover participants and ensure activities are conducted in a safe environment

What we are looking for

Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties.

• Serve as a member of internal and/or external working committees, and cross divisional/units projects.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors and senior officers.

Knowledge & Skills

The minimum education and experience profile required by the job-holder to perform on the job.

Experience

Minimum - Two years of relevant experience in water & land sports clubs as an Assistant Manager or equivalent.

Minimum - Able to swim at least 50m unaided.

Desired - Experience in supervisory positions

Duties & Responsibilities

Desired - Possesses the Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License, Lifesaving 123 and Knowledge in Risk Assessment and Management

Others

Must have administrative, communication and inter-personal skills, and able to work independently or with a team. Must have good quality service and safety attitude.
