What the role is

The Strategy, International & Research (SIR) Directorate oversees and drives MSF’s strategic planning, transformation, international engagement, as well as research and analytics efforts to achieve MSF’s strategic outcomes.

What you will be working on

You will support research projects on assessment and programme evaluation in Early Intervention / Adult Disability services or other MSF projects within PRE as required. Your job scope and key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Conducting literature reviews on Early Intervention / Adult Disability or other project-related research (e.g., in the areas of assessment, intervention, programmes & services, and/or policies). • Preparing and conducting field research (e.g., preparation of relevant research materials and documents, consent-taking, data collection, administer relevant assessments). • Data management and data wrangling (e.g., data extraction, entry, coding, cleaning). • Data analysis, preparing and communicating findings. • Liaison and communication with relevant stakeholders. • Other project tasks or general administrative duties (e.g., supporting training for social service agencies in administering psychological measures, coding of case records).

What we are looking for

• Relevant qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or other social science or public health disciplines, or with relevant experience. • At least 1 year of relevant experience in carrying out research projects (preferably in social service settings; undergraduate research experience included). • Knowledge of psychometrics and/or programme evaluation will be an advantage. • Proficiency in data analysis using R is essential; proficiency with other statistical software is a plus (e.g., Python, Mplus). • Experience with online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, FormSG) is a plus. • Experience or interest in working with Early Intervention / Adult Disability or other social service sectors, which may include the administration of research assessment tools or test batteries with client groups. General Competencies: • Good time management, ability and willingness to multi-task and work under time pressure from multiple stakeholders and tight timelines. • Effective interpersonal skills, collaborate with diverse partners and engage stakeholders. • Team player and able to work independently. • Strong interest in research in general; interest in psychological research is a plus. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Able to problem-solve and provide creative/innovative solutions. Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Applicants must have no prior working experience and must be prepared to commit to a full-time traineeship.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2026 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2027 are eligible for the programme as well.
