What the role is
The Research Officer will provide ISEAS programmes with GIS support when needed, and broader administrative and research assistance. He/she should be able to work independently under limited supervision and will have the opportunity to undertake research projects.
What you will be working on
Responsibilities
Successful applicants are expected to:
- Support ISEAS research projects and products with GIS expertise, especially in terms of visualisation and analysis of geographic/spatial data;
- Support the operations, administrative and editorial work for research projects/programmes;
- Undertake research projects in collaboration with other researchers to deliver a range of ISEAS written products; and
- Contribute to the Institute’s collective research and public outreach efforts.
What we are looking for
Requirements
- University degree in GIS or closely related field, advanced degree preferred;
- Fluency in ArcGIS Pro is essential;
- Good cartographic skills;
- Keen interest in conducting research on assigned topics;
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English;
- Experience in copy-editing and other forms of editorial work highly desirable; and
- Positive work attitude, a high sense of professionalism and ability to work under demanding circumstances.
