What the role is

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Mathematics & Infocomm Technology in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary studies.

What you will be working on

  • Develop and deliver curriculum and assessments for full‑time Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) students in Mathematics

  • Develop and deliver full‑time and/or part‑time PET and CET IT‑related modules, including face‑to‑face and/or online courses

  • Able to teach at least one evening or weekends in the week

  • Design, administer, and mark assessments, including continuous assessments and examinations

  • Counsel and mentor students to support their learning and personal development, including education and career guidance

  • Lead or participate in academic research, data analysis, implementation initiatives, and/or poly‑wide projects

  • Undertake academic‑related administration, committee work, outreach activities, and ad‑hoc projects that support the School’s mission

  • Lead or support educational and enrichment programmes, including study trips where applicable

What we are looking for

  • A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline

  • Preferably at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in Mathematics and/or a related field

  • Demonstrated ability and interest to plan, develop, and teach Mathematics and digital skills‑related modules

  • Strong interest in curriculum development and applied teaching approaches

  • A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and adult learners

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good planning, organising, writing, and multi‑tasking skills

  • Agile, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team‑based environment
