What the role is

MOH plays a key role in shaping Singapore’s approach to the safe and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare delivery, this role focuses on developing governance frameworks that safeguard patient safety and public trust, while enabling responsible innovation. You will be part of a team driving AI governance and policy development at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and public policy, with opportunities to work on emerging issues and evolving priorities. The role sits within a broader team advancing governance frameworks for AI and Precision Medicine Research (PMR), supporting Singapore’s shift towards preventive, technology-enabled healthcare, with opportunities for cross-domain exposure. You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.

What you will be working on

You will be involved in the following key areas of work: • Develop and review governance and regulatory policies relating to AI and emerging digital health issues in the healthcare sector • Monitor local and international developments in AI and healthcare to inform policy formulation and anticipate regulatory implications • Engage relevant stakeholders to gather feedback and support development of AI governance frameworks in healthcare • Support international collaboration and manage relationships with key platforms to advance Singapore’s AI governance interests in healthcare • Handle operational policy work, including responding to Parliamentary/media queries and preparing briefs, speeches and talking points for leadership

What we are looking for

What are we looking for? Requirements • Relevant working experience in policy formulation and regulatory development, preferably within the public sector or healthcare domain • Good understanding of, or interest in, AI, digital health technologies, and governance/regulatory issues in healthcare • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and research capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex developments and translate them into policy insights • Familiarity with data analysis and interpretation; experience in tech or AI-related roles would be an advantage • Ability to engage and work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and international counterparts • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting policy papers, briefs, and responses to Parliamentary/media queries • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within and across teams • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with adaptability and initiative Ideal candidate should also possess the following key competencies: • Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities • Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge, and new ways of working. • Improving & Innovating – Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. • Working Effectively with Stakeholders – Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose.
