What the role is

The Institute of Leadership and Organisation Development (ILOD) is CSC's centre of excellence for leadership and organisational development, and the Sectoral Lead for Organisation Development (OD) job family in the Public Service.

What you will be working on

• Conduct research projects independently in the areas of Talent Assessment & Diagnostics, Leadership/Leadership Development and Organisation Development/Effectiveness, that would inform professional practice as well as be relevant to the business needs of ILOD and CSC in developing talent, leadership, teams and organisations in the Public Service. This would include, in varying degrees: o Identifying relevant research questions o Conceptualising suitable research designs o Identifying feasible data collection methods and constructing data collection tools as needed o Analysing and interpreting data (quantitative and qualitative) o Developing a range of research products to share research findings and implications, translating research findings into actionable insights • Manage research projects, ensuring that objectives are met within budgets and the timeframes set. • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners, stakeholders and clients (e.g. business users, practitioners, sponsors of research) to define, scope and implement relevant research projects. • Keep up to date on the evolving needs and priorities of the Public Service, in order to provide thoughtful perspectives to facilitate internal sense-making and development of meaningful research initiatives. • Engage with officers and leaders at all levels to increase mindshare and provide thought leadership on areas relating to Talent Assessment, Leadership Development and Organisation Development. • Design and engage in outreach efforts, targeted at a range of public service audience, to share and facilitate conversations on various research topics or findings. • Design learning products based on research insights. • Provide leadership and guidance for junior researchers/research associates (if any) supporting the projects.

What we are looking for

• At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in applied research projects in the areas of Talent Assessment (TA), Leadership Development (LD) or Organisation Development (OD) • Familiarity with learning design, or experience in leadership development initiatives or organisation-level initiatives on change, employee engagement, and organisation development would be an advantage • Strong knowledge in research methodologies, well-versed in statistical analysis, data analytics and data visualisation software/applications, preferably R, SPSS, Tableau • Possess strong analytical and communication skills • Resourceful and able to work independently • Able to work collaboratively internally and externally • Able to work effectively with leaders at all levels of management • Strong facilitation skills • Demonstrate integrity and drive for excellence in work
