What the role is

The Manager / Senior Manager, Family Development serves as a strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive family development initiatives across the One Mosque Sector. This role combines family work management expertise with community leadership to nurture resilient Muslim families who contribute meaningfully to building confident Muslims and an empowered community through all life stages.

The position supports the broader organisational goal of building confident, resilient, and empowered Muslim families through systematic family development and engagement initiatives while leveraging extensive networks and partnerships to maximise impact and reach.

The Senior Manager will be expected to maintain and expand a comprehensive network of partnerships that includes government agencies, community organisations, religious bodies, professional associations, research institutions and wellness organisations.

What you will be working on

Family Development and Strengthening Programmes

  • Lead the development of family support systems including marriage enrichment, parenting programmes and family guidance services through mosques.

  • Manage family evidence-based intervention programmes across multiple mosques and districts including Bersamamu 2.0, Project ARIF and Cinta Abadi initiatives.

Strategic Programme Management

  • Coordinate the deployment of Family Development Officers (FDOs) and cross-functional teams in implementing family-centred programmes across lead mosques and districts.

  • Manage programme evaluation systems to measure effectiveness and impact of family initiatives.

Stakeholder Management and Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with family-focused organisations including Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), and Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM).

  • Represent MUIS  in family-related inter-agency committees and national family empowerment initiatives.

Core Programme Management

  • Oversee the implementation of the Bersamamu 2.0 programme and the streamlining of Project ARIF and Cinta Abadi initiatives.

  • Develop and deploy Family Playbooks for mosques to ensure standardised family programme delivery.

  • Mentor and train FDOs in family engagement methodologies and professional development.

Professional and Academic Partnerships

  • Collaborate with research institutions to conduct evidence-based family studies and programme evaluation.

  • Work with data analytics organisations to measure and evaluate family programme effectiveness.

What we are looking for

Educational Qualifications

  • Tertiary education in Social Work, Family Studies, Community Development, Psychology or other relevant fields.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in community and social work, family development and community leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing professional networks, programme management and team leadership.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong commitment to Islamic values and principles.

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in diverse environments.

  • Adaptability and experience in managing complex family intervention programmes.

Successful candidate will be appointed on a contract basis.
