What the role is

The individual will play a key role in leading and supporting the operations of Continuing Education & Training (CET) programmes within the School of Engineering.

What you will be working on

  • Liaise with Course Leads to facilitate the contextualization of training materials based on course objectives and learner profiles, ensuring alignment with CET delivery requirements.
  • Plan and implement end-to-end CET programme delivery with minimal supervision, including liaising with trainers, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with funding and policy requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on assigned CET programmes, supporting proposal preparation, collating feedback, and facilitating follow-ups to maintain service quality and responsiveness.
  • Support CET outreach efforts by contributing to marketing activities, assisting in event preparation, and participating in learner engagement initiatives under the guidance of the CET leadership team.
  • Drive the school’s effective use of the Skills Training and Enhancement Portal (STEP), acting as a resource person to colleagues.
  • Oversee and optimise the use of CET training facilities and digital resources, recommending improvements based on utilisation trends and learner feedback.
  • Contribute to department-wide initiatives and cross-functional taskforces, including process reviews and data reporting exercises.
  • Support team operations and contribute ideas to strengthen CET processes & delivery.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering field and/or training, with a preference for candidates with experience in Engineering and/or training.
  • Resourcefulness, with a proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to changes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player, driven and possesses a strong customer service mindset.
  • Good administrative and organisational ability.
  • Analytical and have an eye for detail.
  • Comfort in navigating ambiguous situations, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong command of Excel.
