The Community Strategies and Insights team in MCCY’s Community Relations and Engagement Division partners community organisations, public agencies, research institutions, and other stakeholders to strengthen social cohesion and advance research and thought leadership on multiculturalism, racial and religious harmony, and resilient societies.
The Community Partnerships unit supports Youth Fellowship and Thought Leadership programmes linked to the International Conference on Cohesive Societies (ICCS) and the Social Cohesion Research Programme (SCRP) with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS). This contributes to Singapore’s efforts to strengthen youth leadership, foster cohesive societies, and advance Singapore’s standing internationally as a thought leader in multiculturalism and social cohesion.
What you will be working on
You will:
• Oversee and manage the funding of the SCRP with RSIS, providing strategic direction on its research agenda to ensure it remains relevant to Singapore's social cohesion priorities and needs.
• Work closely with RSIS to support the planning and delivery of the ICCS and related thought leadership platforms, positioning Singapore as a leading international voice on multiculturalism, racial and religious harmony, and the building of cohesive societies.
• Provide analytical insights and policy support for youth leadership initiatives, including the Young Leaders Programme (YLP), drawing on research, stakeholder engagement, and landscape scanning to ensure these programmes are impactful, relevant, and well-positioned to develop leaders who will carry this work forward
• Develop and sustain strategic partnerships across the ecosystem of community organisations, religious institutions, civil society groups, youth networks, and academic institutions involved in social harmony and cohesion.
What we are looking for
Work Experience:
• Experience in any of the following areas: community development, multiculturalism, youth engagement, social cohesion, partnership-building, programme management, policy development, or research and grant administration would be advantageous
Competency Requirements:
• Strong critical thinking and analytical rigour
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling content for diverse stakeholders
• Ability to translate research and policy thinking into programmes and partnerships
• Ability to move between strategic and operational levels of work
• Organised and delivery-focused
• Effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders across sectors and backgrounds
