What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. The Trainee will be attached to the Internship Office under the Department of Industry & Partnerships at Singapore Polytechnic. The Trainee will serve as a front-facing, customer-oriented representative of the Internship Office, providing support to stakeholders and contributing to the improvement of internship-related processes.

What you will be working on

- Manage local and overseas internship enquiries from students, parents, and companies via email and phone - Support the Internship Office in administrative tasks, including the management of internship procedures and the Internship Portal - Report system issues in the Internship Portal to developers, follow up on resolution progress, and escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner - Monitor and track students’ completion of pre-internship requirements, such as resume preparation, Workplace Safety and Health modules, and submission of documents for overseas internships - Review and recommend improvements to internship workflow automation, including timelines, notifications, and leave management systems.

What we are looking for

- IT-savvy with a willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly - Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, particularly Power Automate and (preferably) Power Apps - Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams, including: Mail merge in Word - Intermediate Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, IF functions, LEFT/RIGHT, PivotTables) for data validation and reporting - Possess good customer relationship management skills, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Applicants must have no prior working experience and must be prepared to commit to a full-time traineeship.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2026 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2027 are eligible for the programme as well.
